From the time I was a little girl, I have had paint on my hands, clay under my nails, and jewelry/clothing creations adorning my body. My home is rich with my paintings, drawings, glass, ceramic, and wood creations. “Art is not what I do, it is who I am.”
I credit my artistic talents to my grandmother who attended art school in New York and studied under American Artist, Georgia O’Keeffe. At a very young age I was recognized for the genetic blessing I received.
The desire to be creative has always been in the forefront of my existence and sharing my love for art is my passion. When you love something you work at it until it makes you happy. I have had my share of happiness.
In the early 1990’s I started painting in oils. My work was noticed by several gallery owners and I began selling throughout the Phoenix area.
When my children left home, I ventured down a new path. I went to college for the first time at age 45 and received a degree in education. Wanting to share my knowledge and passion, I taught art at the secondary level for 20 years.
I met and married Steven W. Zachary, an attorney and minister. Together we created Journey316Books to promote and share art, books and music that have a positive message.
